First Gathering Social Science English Club in 2024

Welcoming International Student Gerrend Lucky Alexa Hartono with the Spirit of Togetherness

On Friday, October 11, 2024, Socelish Club, an active English community in the Social Studies Education study program founded by Mr. Bayu and Mrs. Nurul. held a lively first gathering activity. This event was attended by new and old members from various batches from 2022 to 2024, and was enlivened by the presence of a special guest, Gerrend Lucky Alexa, an international student from the Faculty of Economics and Business.

This activity was held in class and started at 12.30 WIB. The purpose of the event was to strengthen relationships between members, while also providing an opportunity for them to practice English in a relaxed and interactive atmosphere. Gerrend's presence was a special attraction because he shared his learning experiences at an international school and shared how he learned English to make it easier.

Soselish Club, known as a place to improve English skills through various activities such as discussions, debates, and presentations, this time packaged the event with various educational games. One of the most popular activities was speed talking, where participants had to communicate quickly and effectively in English for a few minutes.

The event ended with a group photo session. The participants looked satisfied and excited to participate in the next Soselish activities. This gathering is expected to be the first step in creating a stronger and more inclusive learning community, as well as facilitating students in improving their English skills. (Mira)
